Absolutely. Qlokkie GPS watches are specially designed for children, with safety as their top priority. All communication takes place via encrypted connections, and only pre-defined contacts can call or send messages. Unknown numbers can also be automatically blocked. Parents always maintain control via the app and can set safe zones themselves. So your child can go out worry-free, while you watch with peace of mind.
What happens if my child takes off or turns off the watch?
The app immediately shows you when the watch is turned off or when the connection is lost. Some models even automatically send a notification when the watch is removed. This way, you always stay informed, even in unexpected situations.
Does the watch also work in Belgium or on holiday abroad?
Yes, the watch is unlocked and works anywhere in the world with mobile coverage. You can choose a SIM card from a provider that offers coverage at your destination. It's important to enable roaming on your SIM card. This way, the watch continues to share GPS locations, even if you're camping in France or driving through Belgium.
Does my child have access to the internet or apps like WhatsApp?
No, standard Qlokkie models don't provide access to social media or the internet. This is a deliberate decision: we want to protect children from online risks. Some models do offer video calling or short voice messages, but always with pre-defined contacts and under parental supervision.
Can I manage multiple watches in one app?
Yes, you can pair and manage multiple watches in a single app. This is ideal if you have more than one child. You can easily switch between profiles and set zones, contacts, and notifications for each watch individually.
How long does the battery last and how do I charge the watch?
Depending on the model, the battery lasts one to three days. The watch is easily charged with the included magnetic charger or USB cable. A handy tip: charge the watch overnight so your child starts every morning with a full battery.
Do I need a subscription to use the watch?
No, there's no mandatory subscription. You choose your own SIM card and provider. This makes Qlokkie flexible and affordable. Make sure you use a SIM card with sufficient data (at least 100-200 MB per month is usually enough) so your location is always shared accurately.
What happens if there is no GPS signal, such as inside a building?
In that case, the watch automatically switches to LBS (location via cell towers) or Wi-Fi location, depending on the model. This allows you to still see a general location, even if your child is inside a school building, for example.
Can the watch withstand water or if my child falls with it?
Qlokkie watches are splashproof. This means rain or hand washing are no problem. Just don't let your child wear them while swimming or showering. The watches are designed for children: sturdy, robust, and built to withstand a few knocks while playing outside or cycling.
